Which driver are you using? Intel reference driver or Asus driver? If Asus has their own driver, you might want to try that. Or vice versa.

Good idea, but no change... The driver downloaded directly from Intel was actually an older version, but the only one available on their website. The behavior is the same, though.

What I meant was that it still does the same - if the monitor is plugged in during boot up, the screen stays black. Although it does come out of sleep. There's just no picture.
